Psychology is the
study of the mind, it is a detailed subject filled with vocabulary and theories
that seeks to
uncover the reasons why people do what they do. Chadwick Carter Blackwell is a
Professor of
Psychology, specifically Child Psychology and his discoveries have been very
influential in the
academic world, especially at the colleges he has worked for including Mary
Baldwin University,
Bridgewater College, University of Virginia, and Blue Ridge Community
College.
According to
Chadwick Carter Blackwell, psychology's main purpose is to understand human
behavior, in all
its erratic glory. He understands the challenges this entails, and has thus
developed a
Survival Skills course to help students grasp all the important facts in
psychology
courses. The course
is meant to improve academic and professional behaviors of students with a
psychology major, something
Chadwick Carter Blackwell feels very passionate about.
If psychology’s
main purpose is to understand behavior then Chadwick Blackwell’s main
purpose is to
encourage good behavior! Most of his students believe him to be a very
intelligent
man with a great
personality, making him easy to learn from. He is described as a funny
individual that
understand the seriousness academia demands, a well-balanced combination for
today’s world.
Chadwick Carter Blackwell used this
combination to work as an advisor to many psychology or
other clubs such as
Psi Chi National Honor Society, International Club, and Psychology
Club. Chadwick
Carter Blackwell believes learning is meant for both inside and outside the
classroom, so he
enjoys the opportunity to reach his students at a more personal level during
club
meetings. And as
these clubs usually boast students devoted to their academics, they too
appreciate the
chance to get a more detailed learning experience.
With Mary Baldwin’s
growing Psi Chi Chapter, Chadwick Carter Blackwell has been able to
influence more
future psychologists and researchers than he had originally even hoped for.
